US Taxes To Pay for Health Care Program

Posted by Elisheva Wiriaatmadja On June - 22 - 2009

As Congress is looking for ways to pay for the health care program, they are looking into the option to tax beer, wine and hard liquor as it is said to cost over $1.5 trillion over ten years. It has been reported that between junk food and alcohol, there is about $600 billion in taxes that can be collected over a period of 10 years.

The alcohol tax is only one of the many ideas that was suggested to help pay for the enormous cost of Obama’s health care program. Apparently the Democrats and Obama is finding it a lot harder to come up with the money to create the heath programs and when rumours spread that the cost of the programs would be as much as trillions of dollars, more scrambling happens to try to pay for it.
