These days more and more students are opting for loans for their higher education. In the latest news that has come out U.S. President Barack Obama has said that the U.S government is trying its level best to introduce new loan reform plans which can help the students to take admission in different colleges.

This loan plan is especially designed to make student loan easily accessible.  The plan would also make United States of America one of the best providers of higher education. On Saturday this news was given out in which Mr. Obama further said that the new loan reform plan would also save American taxpayers from paying the extra $68 billion.

This plan includes various different reforms with the help of which a student would directly be able to contact the loan authorities without taking the help of the private banks and financial institutions. The money that you save would be used for providing special grants to the different colleges for organizing various student programs and seminars.

It is a known fact that the cost of education in America is very high and in the future years it is expected to increase further. All the problems that are faced by the students can easily be solved with the help of the latest student reform.

Mr. Obama further said that every year a particular student on average finishes college with debt of $23,000.  Various students have shown interest in this plan.

Students who have already taken loans on the basis of present law will also benefit from this scheme as their monthly interest payment would surely be decreased.

You must know that colleges and universities who are engaged direct in the lending procedures would not be able to gain any benefits from the new loan reform.

  2. This is an informative article but I think there are much wider issues plaguing the academic and health system of America. All these reforms are papering over the cracks and what’s needed is a complete redevelopment of the plan before we turn into a 3rd world country.

    Its a terrible fact these days that no matter how much they reform the student loan system, with the worldwide economy the way it is you might not be able to get a job at all even if you can afford to get the education you need to get the job in the first place.

  4. I am a student and it’s good to hear that programs are being put in place to help with paying for college. I’m glad that President Obama is trying to make change at different aspects in America. Government programs can’t just be geared towards health care.

    Obama is gonna make it easier for students to go to school, which should help the country as a whole, long term.

  7. Entitlement program? The only entitlement was a guarantee by the fed that the loans would be repaid. All of the profit was taken by private banks. That is corporate welfare, and you’re okay with that?

  10. That’s true students are moving to loan facility to pay their colleges fee. If Mr. Barak Obama is reforming the student loan, then it is very nice, and I hope that it would be very helpful for those students who really want to borrow a loan.

    According to the latest reform, now government will be originating loans which previously were issued by private banks and guaranteed by the government. This is no doubt a very crucial reform but not very visible to the students at the moment. This eliminates private banks as the intermediary and saves approx. $68 billion dollars over 11 years for the US.
